| Boscov's Executive Training Program - Designed for graduating seniors, to accelerate the career growth of our carefully selected trainees. Our trainees must have the same qualities as our top executives: an entrepreneurial spirit, creative problem solving and strategic thinking. During the first year, a trainee experiences the important aspects of the buying office function including; business analysis, merchandise planning, vendor and store relations, retail math and merchant systems. Trainees participate in on-the-job training and a series of classroom seminars. These seminars focus on the buying, retail management and interpersonal skills. This method allows our trainees to continue to develop the skills they learned during their prior education, while also learning what it takes to accelerate their careers at Boscov's. Trainees are highly visible while in the program and their progress is monitored by their assigned supervisor through performance appraisals. At the conclusion of the training program, trainees continue on an accelerated career path as opportunities are created by the growth of the company. |
